Jules Profile

I'm Jules, a colorectal cancer survivor.

Initially overwhelmed by fatigue, loss of appetite, and swollen legs, my journey began without a defined cancer stage. With a treatment plan of partial colectomy and chemotherapy, I navigated through side effects like diarrhea and hair loss as part of my cancer journey.

I've since adopted a healthier lifestyle and found solace in my family's support. I'm currently in remission and not taking any medication.

Maria Side Effects

It all started with strange symptoms. I felt extremely tired and my appetite vanished. I couldn't drive safely anymore as well. There was a noticeable change in my bowel habits and I suffered from diarrhea and constipation too. Another alarming sign was my legs getting swollen.

Eventually, I sought answers at my hospital, where they diagnosed me with colorectal cancer. I was not diagnosed with a specific stage.

The diagnosis filled me with fear. I felt insecure and nervous. I was overwhelmed by the thought of what lay ahead, and confusion clouded my mind.

I sought a second opinion because I felt like my previous doctor didn't give me enough information.

My doctor laid out a plan for me, a combination of partial colectomy surgery and chemotherapy. I trusted his advice and proceeded with the treatment options.

Once the treatment plans were confirmed, I felt more relieved and motivated to take the steps towards recovery.

I experienced side effects such as diarrhea, fatigue, and the loss of hair. I managed the side effects as best as I could by improving my diet and relied on prescribed medication to ease the discomfort.

Lifestyle Text Call 1

After treatment, I made some permanent changes to my lifestyle. I focused on two key areas – exercise and nutrition. I made a conscious effort to exercise more, pushing myself to move my body 50% more than before.

I started paying closer attention to what I ate. I made healthier choices three to five days a week.

Throughout this journey, my parents have been my rock. I found myself reaching out to them more often, seeking comfort and reassurance in their words. Even though I couldn't visit them as often as I'd like, I made sure to stay connected through calls and texts.

My aspiration now is to look after myself and lose weight. I'm determined to live life fully.

Looking ahead, my priority with loved ones is to spend more quality time together.

Mrinmay Biggest Fear

Throughout my journey to recovery, my biggest fear is giving up. The fear of succumbing to lethargy and depression followed me.

Instead, I made a conscious effort to motivate myself and live life fully.
