Curtis Profile

My name is Curtis. Let me recount my story for you.

It started with a little discomfort in my groin area, right between my legs. This worried me, especially because my father and all his brothers had prostate cancer.

Curtis Symptoms

Less than a year ago (2023), I started to feel a little discomfort in the groin area, right between my legs. I found this suspicious, and on top of that, I also had concerns because my father and all his brothers had prostate cancer.

This prompted me to seek medical attention, and that's when I was diagnosed with stage 1 prostate cancer.

When I first received my diagnosis, I was overcome by a wide range of emotions. I was fearful and sad.

Nervousness, worry and grief overwhelmed me, and I couldn't help but feel powerless and vulnerable over my condition.

Joanna Lifestyle

After receiving my diagnosis, I made changes to my lifestyle.

I improved my nutrition by adopting a healthier diet 3 to 5 days of the week. I started using the vegetable juice diet as much as possible which stopped the discomfort I felt from inflammation.
This is my own recipe of which I use what I can get off the ingredients.

  • 1 pineapple
  • 5 red apples
  • 2 bunches of kale
  • 2 to 4 bunches of parsley
  • 5 tomatoes
  • 1 bok choy
  • 2 celery
  • 2 cucumbers
  • 3 medium whole beets
  • 6 carrots
  • 1 to 4 broccoli crowns
  • 1 bunch spinach
  • 1 lb green beans
  • 2 to 4 red bell peppers
  • 2 romaine lettuce
  • 2 bunches Swiss chard
  • Turmeric
  • Ginger

You can add watermelon and other fruit to your diet. I made garlic toast (4 garlic cloves) instead of putting in the juice. The important thing to focus on is reducing as much processed food as possible.

Curtis Medical Care

As of late 2023, I've just received my diagnosis and have yet to receive treatment. However, I have decided on a treatment plan.

My doctor recommended a surgical procedure called a radical prostatectomy, which involves the removal of the entire prostate gland. I've opted for this surgery based on my own research and my family history.

I've also sought alternative treatment in the form of nutritional supplements and adopting a vegetable juice diet.

Aspirations Future Plan

I've started eating a healthier and more nutritious diet 3 to 5 days of the week.

Unfortunately, I still have to work to pay my bills; just because I have cancer, doesn't mean that it stops the cost of living. For now, I am hopeful that I can make plans after surgery. In fact, I hope to be able to visit a friend in Thailand soon to help him with his garden.

Manap Words

Considering my cancer diagnosis, my biggest aspiration is to be alive. I also hope that even with cancer, I am able to be a functioning participant, rather than being a burden or dead.

Dev Biggest Fear

I lost my father to prostate cancer.

Like many others with cancer, my biggest fear throughout my cancer journey is that I might die. To overcome this fear, I pray for God to do His best miracle. I also pray for God's will to be done in my life. His answer is always yes to what ever I ask which is for His will to be done.

Harrison Biggest Fear

Even though some time has passed since my diagnosis, my feelings haven't changed. I still feel fearful, nervous, overwhelmed and worried.

Clement Biggest Fear

Pray for God's will to be done in your life. Place yourself in God's hands and care. Follow God's principles for diet and exercise.

As I've said earlier, try to eliminate all processed food including sugar and oil.
