Linda Profile

Hey, I'm Linda, originally from Malaysia, and I learned that I had breast cancer in 2007. I had actually lost my aunt to cancer too.

After my diagnosis, I underwent a lumpectomy, chemo- and radiation therapy. I’ve completed treatment and my cancer is in remission.

Symptoms Breast Cancer 3

Back in 2007, I was having a shower and felt a lump above the right breast. After further evaluation, the lump turned out to be stage 0 breast cancer. Otherwise, I had no other symptoms.

Emotions Hopeless 1

When I first heard about my cancer diagnosis, I was very worried and nervous. It was overwhelming.

Lifestyle Healthy Diet 2

After diagnosis, I focused on eating a healthier diet every day of the week.

Medical Care Chemotherapy 3

My treatment plan included a lumpectomy (breast-conserving surgery), chemotherapy, and radiation therapy, all based on my doctor's recommendation. I felt slightly relieved, motivated and hopeful after the treatment plan was confirmed.

Side Effects Hair Loss 3

I suffered from side effects like fatigue, hair loss, and lymphedema, but didn’t do anything to manage them.

Aspirations Vacation 4

After treatment began, I stuck to a healthier diet every day.

Being diagnosed with breast cancer has also changed my relationships. After learning I had cancer, I spent more time with my two kids and went on more yearly family trips with them.

Aspiration Creating Memories 1

I plan to make the most of my time together with my family, so I try to see them whenever I can. I want to be able to be with them. I also aspire to share my journey with my friends.

Clement Biggest Fear

Throughout my cancer journey, my greatest fear is that the cancer would recur, but I leave it to God and just pray.

Words Healing Recover 2

Many years have passed since I was first diagnosed. I no longer feel fearful. Instead, I feel optimistic, hopeful, and thankful.
