  • Encodes for menin protein that regulates gene transcription, genomic stability, cell proliferation and apoptosis
  • Menin interacts with β-catenin, another protein that regulates gene transcription, whose dysregulation leads to tumor development, including endocrine tumors

  • Pancreatic islet cell tumors (gastrinomas, insulinomas, glucagonomas, vasoactive intestinal polypeptidomas, pancreatic polypeptidomas)
  • Pituitary tumors
  • Bronchial carcinoid
  • Gastrointestinal (GI) neuroendocrine tumor
  • Thymic neuroendocrine tumor
